Lauren Book is a mom, a nationally recognized child safety advocate, and a former Florida Senate Democratic Leader who has spent her life turning her own pain into purpose for others.
When Lauren was eleven years old, her family hired a nanny who would go on to abuse her for the next six years. As a young woman, Lauren made a decision that would define the rest of her life: no other child should ever have to suffer in silence the way she did, and no family should ever have to fight a broken system alone.
In 2007, she founded Lauren’s Kids — Florida’s preeminent organization dedicated to ending child sexual abuse and supporting survivors. What began as one survivor’s mission has grown into a global movement reaching millions of children with prevention education every single year.
